I'm starting to notice that everytime I start worrying about something I can calculate -the old "if we have 2, we have to have 2, or we'll never get 4" mentality - that I'm soon comforted that God is in control of everything. I actually get peace by saying to myself, "If God doesn't show up, I'm doomed."
I guess that's just the thing: God always shows up. If He never does another thing for me, He gave me salvation. Mark 2:1-12
